Skin Peels

Peels may seem daunting and somewhat scary, but Dr Malik will tailor her peels to suit each individuals needs; stronger components will only be used if the client’s skin requires it. The beauty of the Pure Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acid peels and New Generation Combination Peels is that they stimulate new cells to encourage healthy exfoliation and re-modelling. This ensures skin has an even tone, colour and texture; that healthy glow we all long for.

Medical Grade Dermaroller

This single use rolling device containing 200 fine sharp needles is passed over the skin following the administration of a topical local anesthetic. This stimulates the body’s own collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, laxity and stretch marks.

Skin Therapy Meso-Peel and Meso-Peel Lite

Dr Malik’s signature meso-peel combines medical grade micro-needling/dermaroller with the application of a customised Julia T. Hunter MD peel solution. Clients can achieve the best possible skin rejuvenation with the least downtime; perfect if you have a big event coming up or if you only have time for one treatment.

This treatment is ideally done every 6 months for skin rejuvenation/maintenance, or more intensively every 3-4 months to address lines, hyperpigmentation, dullness and skin laxity. The meso-peel involves the use of bigger needles requiring the application of local anaesthetic first.

The meso-peel lite uses smaller needles that do not require the skin to be numbed first.

Julia T. Hunter MD exfoliant and peel is used in the course of medi-facials to dissolve and clear blackheads, pigment, dead skin, decrease pore size, exfoliate, calm sensitivity and redness/vein issues. Your skin will be left looking and feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Customised medi-facials can also be used to clear, calm, and clean blemishes, as well as address scarring. If you suffer from similar skin issues, for example on the back and chest, this treatment can be used on the entire body.

Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is an effective method of exfoliation. Using a scalpel blade, dead skin cells are removed from the epidermis (top layer of the skin). Along with exfoliating, dermaplaning also helps remove the unwanted velus hairs from the face.

Removing epidermal skin also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. As a result, this treatment can be used to prepare the skin for chemical peels or incorporated into medical facials. Dermaplaning is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyper-pigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.

Usually, you can see a difference after the first treatment. Not only will you achieve smoother, brighter skin but this also helps remove peach fuzz and despite popular belief, the hair does not grow back thicker.

The eye revive is ideally done as a course of 3, one a week for 3 consecutive weeks, although it can also be done as a ‘stand alone’ treatment.
